그룹 에스파가 미국 빌보드 메인 앨범차트 '빌보드 200'에서 25위에 오르며 4세대 K팝 걸그룹 신기록을 세웠다.

빌보드는 16일(현지시간) 에스파의 첫 정규앨범 '아마겟돈(Armageddon)'이 20일 자 '빌보드 200'에서 25위로 데뷔했다고 발표했다. 이로써 에스파는 4세대 K팝 걸그룹 중 최초로 '빌보드 200' 톱40에 5개 앨범을 연속 진입시킨 팀이 됐다.

에스파는 이전에 미니 2집 '걸스(Girls)'로 3위, 미니 3집 '마이 월드(my world)'로 9위, 미니 1집 '새비지(savage)'로 20위, 미니 4집 '드라마(Drama)'로 33위를 기록한 바 있다. 이러한 기록은 3세대 걸그룹 트와이스에 이은 성과다.

'아마겟돈'은 빌보드 월드 앨범 차트 1위로 데뷔했으며, 톱 앨범 세일즈 차트와 톱 커런트 앨범 세일즈 차트에서도 2위를 차지했다. 빌보드 아티스트 100에서는 17위에 올랐다.

한편, 방탄소년단 슈가의 솔로 앨범 '디데이(D-DAY)'가 바이닐(LP) 판매량 증가로 '빌보드 200' 169위에 재진입했다. 에이티즈의 미니 10집 '골든 아워 : 파트 1(GOLDEN HOUR : Part.1)'은 67위를 기록하며 6주 연속 차트인에 성공했다.

'빌보드 200' 1위는 테일러 스위프트의 '더 토처드 포이츠 디파트먼트(The Tortured Poets Department)'가 12주 연속 차지하며 자체 최장 1위 기록을 갱신했다.

K-pop girl group aespa has set a new record for 4th generation K-pop girl groups by reaching No. 25 on Billboard's main album chart, the 'Billboard 200'.

On the 16th (local time), Billboard announced that aespa's first full-length album 'Armageddon' debuted at No. 25 on the 'Billboard 200' chart dated May 20. This makes aespa the first 4th generation K-pop girl group to have five consecutive albums enter the top 40 of the 'Billboard 200'.

Previously, aespa reached No. 3 with their second mini-album 'Girls', No. 9 with their third mini-album 'My World', No. 20 with their first mini-album 'Savage', and No. 33 with their fourth mini-album 'Drama'. This achievement follows that of the 3rd generation girl group TWICE.

'Armageddon' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums chart and reached No. 2 on both the Top Album Sales chart and the Top Current Album Sales chart. The group also ranked No. 17 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart.

Meanwhile, BTS member Suga's solo album 'D-DAY' re-entered the 'Billboard 200' at No. 169 due to increased vinyl (LP) sales. ATEEZ's 10th mini-album 'GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1' ranked at No. 67, successfully charting for six consecutive weeks.

Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department' topped the 'Billboard 200' for the 12th consecutive week, extending her own record for the longest-running No. 1 album.
